Martyrdom of Guru Arjan (1606) (Sikhism) - Guru Arjan was the fifth of the Ten Guru. He was tortured and killed for defending the principles of his faith.

Refugee Week - an annual event that celebrates the contribution of refugees to the UK and encourages people to take a more positive view on asylum.

RATHA YATRA (Hinduism) - the Festival of Chariots. Ratha Yatra is celebrated around the world, but the most famous and largest celebrations take place in Puri, India. The celebrations take place at the Jagannath Temple in Puri. A festival will be held in Cardiff on the 12th August to celebrate.

World Humanist Day - This day is celebrated to promote the positive values of Humanism.

Windrush's 75th birthday - On June 22, 1948 HMT Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury docks, carrying the first immigrants from the Caribbean. The ship and its passengers have a symbolic status as the start of the Windrush Generation.

26 June – 1 July

The events of Hajj (Islam) - Pilgrimage to Makkah. This is the 5th pillar of Islam. Every Muslim must do the Hajj once in their life if they can afford it and if their health allows it.

28 June- 2 July

Eid-al-Adha (Islam) - Eid al-Adha is the latter of the two official holidays which are celebrated within Islam (the other being Eid al-Fitr). It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of obedience to Allah's command. The festival also marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Many Muslims make a special effort to wear new clothes, attend a prayer service in a mosque and listen to a sermon.

Asalha Puja (Buddhism) - a festival to remember the Buddha's first sermon, where he learned about the Middle Way, the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.

Ganesh Chaturthi / Vinayaka Chaturthi (Hinduism) - a Hindu festival in honour of Ganesh / Ganesha, (also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka).

Rosh Hashanah (Judaism) - the Jewish new year. The day remembers God creating the world. It also begins ten days of repentance for wrongdoing during the past year.
